Step into a night of history, music, and storytelling with Wilbert McAlister aka 'Cowboy,' the legendary president of the Oakland Black Cowboy Association (OBCA). Mr. McAlister is a living testament to the rich, often untold history of Black cowboys in America as well as the lead singer of local favorite band, Cowboy and His Sometimes Blues. Aaron Vance, with his powerful vocal talent and strong personal charisma, will be opening the show and performing favorites from his latest albums. The event is a home for Black artists and Black fans of country, blues, folk, and Americana music, aiming to change the perception and appreciation of Black people in the genre.
