The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) invites visitors to a unique in-gallery photography workshop led by director, photographer, and Executive Director of the Black Film Guild, Walter Wallace. This multifaceted workshop is a unique way to learn essential photography techniques from an experienced instructor while exploring the OMCA galleries and building community and is a wonderful opportunity for photography enthusiasts of all levels.The workshop will begin with a hands-on demonstration where guests will learn tips and strategies for using both digital cameras and phone cameras for taking great shots. Spare digital cameras will be supplied for guests who do not have their own. OMCA's Gallery Chats Facilitator, Avril Angevine will then be available for a guided tour of OMCA's photography collection where she will highlight some of the same techniques on our gallery walls. The experience will conclude with a fun an interactive #OMCA photo scavenger hunt.
